Team Mateo - Get Loud March for Sick Kids
Why I walk for Sick Kids...
Team Mateo's 5th Annual Walk for Sick Kids
To my family and friends,
At 9 days old we took our son Mateo to The Hospital for Sick Kids as he was not eating and very lethargic. That day changed our lives forever! While the doctors and nurses were attending to Mateo he went into SVT. (Supraventricular Tachycardia) Within seconds, a team of Doctors, Nurses, Specialists, and Social Workers were attending to Mateo and my family. Mateo was transferred to the Critical Care Unit and the Cardiac Unit (4D). We spent just over a month living in the rooms at Sick Kids while we watched the amazing staff do their work and help us prepare to take Mateo home. The team at Sick Kids saved his life and our family will be forever grateful. We don't know where we would be today without this hospital.
Our family, are regular supporters of Sick Kids Hospital and this year on Sept 28th, we as a family will be participating in the “Get Loud for Sick Kids March”.
Our team (including Mateo) will be participating in a 5km March through the city of Toronto in support of the Hospital for Sick Kids.Together we will take many steps to change kids' health and support Sick Kids – an amazing place that strives to provide better, healthier lives for kids everywhere.
We are asking our family and friends to support us in our adventure.
Your support today means so much to me – and the kids and families who go to SickKids.
